2- MAR BELLA : Beautiful view and pleasure beach
This beach stands out for its beautiful sea, its quality of sand, its green spaces and gardens and its picturesque nature. The setting is more than Barceloneta beach. It is a beach located in an enclave that is surrounded by the beaches of Nova Mar bella and Bogatell. Mar Bella beach is twice the size of Nova Icaria which makes it the ideal place to go for a walk alone or accompanied, you can also enjoy swimming and sunbathing in complete tranquillity. There is also a cycle track for cyclists and joggers. Mar Bella offers a wide range of restaurants and hotels where you can enjoy the good weather in a pleasant atmosphere. 3- NOVA ICARIA: Calm and peaceful
It is a very small, peaceful and remote beach. Its popularity is due to its great tranquillity. It is commonly visited by families, children and couples. Despite its proximity to La Barceloneta, Nova Icaria is a beach where you can relax and unwind. With its warm, golden sand and cold, colourful waters, you can’t help but have a unique time.
Nova Icaria also offers areas for sporting activities such as beach volleyball, table tennis, and sports bowls. The beach also has cycle paths for your bike rides or for running errands.
The beach also offers the possibility of reserving umbrellas and sun loungers, and there are drink and ice-cream stands where you can refresh yourself from the hot sun.
The beach is very well served by bus lines 6.36.41.92 and 141. By metro line 4 Cuitadella and Bogatell and by tram line Cuitadella-Vila Olimpica.
4- Playa de Gavà y Playa de Castelldefels: Sailing by the beach
Located on the outskirts of the town, these are the first beaches you will find on leaving the town. Gava is the closest beach, and if you walk along it, you will come to Castelldefels beach, which is one of the most pleasant walks along the Barcelona coast. Both beaches are very large and well equipped. Nearby are several sailing schools for the practice of any sport that relates to prevailing wind.
5- Bogatell;
Located between Nova Icaria and Mar bella, it is often visited by young people. Bogatell was created just in time for the Olympic games in 1922 and it now has become a popular hangout for those who enjoy outdoor sports. The beach offers a wide range of services such as sports areas, umbrella hire, sun loungers and refreshment facilities, including two table tennis tables, a football pitch in the middle of the beach and a volleyball court at the other end, near the Mar Bella breakwater. It is the perfect beach for you if you want to avoid the busy crowds from Barceloneta without having to sacrifice the many specialties the beach offers.
